Dura requests three-month exclusivity extension to present business plan

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Feb. 23 - Dura Automotive Systems, Inc. requested an extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company wants to extend its exclusive plan-filing period to May 23 from Feb. 27 and the solicitation period to July 23 from April 30.

According to the motion, the extension is necessary to give the company more time to present its business plan to parties in interest and to begin discussions and negotiations on what path the reorganization case should take.

A hearing is scheduled for March 21.

Dura, a Rochester Hills, Mich.-based automotive parts maker, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 30. Its Chapter 11 case number is 06-11202.
