Moody's stabilizes Deutsche Telekom view

Moody's Investors Service said it changed the outlook to stable from negative and affirmed the Baa1 senior unsecured rating of Deutsche Telekom AG and Deutsche Telekom International Finance BV.

"The change in outlook to stable from negative reflects our expectation of progressive improvement in DT's operating performance in its core markets of Germany and the U.S., combined with management's commitment to progressively reduce leverage from 3.8x in 2021 to around 3x by 2024," said Carlos Winzer, a Moody's senior vice president and lead analyst for Deutsche Telekom, in a press release.

Moody’s noted that Deutsche Telekom’s operating performance, particularly in the U.S. has been stronger than anticipated.
