Knoxville, Tenn., Oct. 16 - Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. said it has hired Drausio Giacomelli as a managing director and head of emerging markets market strategy.

Giacomelli will head a team of strategists responsible for generating investment recommendations on emerging markets' currencies, equities, sovereign and corporate debt. He will be based in New York and report to Marcel Cassard, managing director and global head of macro and fixed income research.

Giacomelli joins the bank from J.P. Morgan, where he was head of Latin American local markets strategy and co-head of Latin America external debt strategy and economics research. He has a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Sao Paulo and a Ph.D. in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology

"Drausio is one of the most accomplished strategists in EM and brings a wealth of experience on Latin American markets to our team," Cassard said in a press release. "I expect Drausio to be a major asset to our emerging markets franchise."
