D.E. Shaw adds Lyon to expand special situations/distressed private equity team

Pittsburgh, June 18 - The D. E. Shaw Group expanded its special situations/distressed private equity team with the addition of David Lyon, according to a news release.

Lyon will join senior vice president Patrick Collins, who heads the firm's special situations/distressed private equity team.

According to the release, the group is focused on making significant private equity investments in financially distressed companies, providing capital for corporate turnarounds and addressing investment opportunities arising from the bankruptcy process.

Before joining D. E. Shaw, Lyon was a managing director of The Cypress Group.

New York-based D. E. Shaw is a global investment and technology development firm.
