Delta Petroleum files $300 million universal shelf registration

Knoxville, Tenn., April 8 - Delta Petroleum Corp. filed a $300 million shelf registration in an S-3 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The registration covers debt securities, guarantees of debt securities, common stock, preferred stock, depositary shares, warrants, rights and units.

The securities may be structured as convertibles.

The Denver-based independent oil and gas company said proceeds will be used for the exploration and development of its natural gas and crude oil properties, acquisition, exploration and development of additional properties or interests, acquisition of additional oil and gas service businesses, debt repayment, working capital and general corporate purposes.
