Delta Mills posts $1.53 million operating loss for month ended June 2

Pittsburgh, June 28 - Delta Mills, Inc. reported a $1.53 million operating loss for the period of May 6 to June 2 on zero net sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Wednesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The figures showed a decline from an $848,985 operating loss for the period of April 1 to May 5 on $912,101 in net sales.

The net loss for the month ended June 2 was $2.13 million, widening from an $886,905 net loss the month before.

As of June 2, the company had $9.44 million in cash and cash equivalents, compared with $9.79 million on May 6.

Delta Mills is the operating subsidiary of Delta Woodside, Inc., a Greenville, S.C.-based company that manufactures and sells textile products for the apparel industry. Delta Mills filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 13, 2006. The Chapter 11 case number is 06-11144.
