Delta Mills posts $22.3 million operating loss for Feb. 4 to March 3

Pittsburgh, May 2 - Delta Mills, Inc. reported a $22.3 million operating loss for the period of Feb. 4 to March 3 on net sales of $817,027, according to its monthly operating report filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The figures declined from a $535,493 operating loss for the period of Jan. 1 to Feb. 3 on $2.53 million in net sales.

The net loss for the latest period was $22.34 million, up from a $614,015 net loss during the previous period.

The company reported $7.95 million in cash and cash equivalents as of March 3, compared with $1.51 million on Feb. 3.

Delta Mills is the operating subsidiary of Delta Woodside, Inc., a Greenville, S.C.-based company that manufactures and sells textile products for the apparel industry. Delta Mills filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 13, 2006. The Chapter 11 case number is 06-11144.
