Delta Mills requests 45-day exclusivity extension

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Feb. 9 - Delta Mills, Inc. requested an extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company wants to extend its exclusive plan-filing period to March 27 from Feb. 10 and the solicitation period to May 28 from 60 days after Feb. 10.

Now that the company has completed the sale process, it says is will now be able to better assess the best way to proceed with a liquidation plan and the extension will increase the likelihood that it will be able to formulate and negotiate a consensual plan.

A hearing is scheduled for March 15.

Delta Mills is the operating subsidiary of Delta Woodside, Inc., a Greenville, S.C.-based company that manufactures and sells textile products for the apparel industry. Delta Mills filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 13. The Chapter 11 case number is 06-11144.
