Fitch rates Dell notes A

Fitch Ratings said it assigned an A rating to Dell Inc.'s offering of senior unsecured notes.

The proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, including repurchase of Dell's common stock, investments, additions to working capital, capital expenditures, advancements to or investments in Dell's subsidiaries and acquisitions of companies and assets.

The outlook is stable.

The ratings reflect the company's strong financial flexibility, Fitch said, supported by cash and investments of about $15 billion before the current debt offering and consistent free cash flow.

The ratings also consider its strong growth and sizable market share in emerging markets, especially China and India, the agency said.

Credit concerns include the event risk included in large acquisitions that will accelerate Dell's ongoing transformation to a global provider of enterprise solutions, Fitch added.
