DBSI requests three-month exclusivity extension to avoid interference

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, June 9 - DBSI, Inc. requested an extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Monday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company wants to extend its exclusive plan filing period to Sept. 6 from June 4 and the solicitation period to Nov. 5 from Aug. 3.

DBSI said the extension will allow it to explore all of its options for its Chapter 11 cases and to avoid unwarranted interference from parties trying to derail its restructuring process.

A hearing is scheduled for July 7.

Meridian, Idaho-based DBSI controls a network of real estate entities. The company filed for bankruptcy on Nov. 10, 2008. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-12687.
