Fitch affirms China Life

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed China Life Insurance Co. Ltd.'s national insurer financial strength rating at A+(twn) and international insurer financial strength rating at BBB.

The outlook is stable.

The affirmation reflects China Life's strong operating results in 2007, driven by strong investment profits, Fitch said. Other factors include the company's solid risk management systems, evolution of product development and moderate strengthening of its capitalization, the agency said.

The ratings also consider China Life's weaknesses, including modest franchise and exposure of its capital to potential negative re-valuation changes, Fitch said.
