Children's Place shareholder group continues to seek support for slate

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., July 8 - The Committee of Concerned Shareholders of the Children's Place said it filed an investor presentation with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday in connection with its nomination of three individuals for election to the board of directors of Children's Place Retail Stores, Inc. on July 31.

The committee nominated Raphael Benaroya, Jeremy Fingerman and Ross Glickman.

As previously reported, Benaroya is chairman of the board of directors of Russ Berrie & Co., Inc., Fingerman is founder and managing principal of Clairmont Ventures, and Glickman is chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Urban Retail Properties, LLC.

According to the committee, if elected, the nominees will work with the board to:

• Identify and recommend a permanent CEO and a non-executive chairman;

• Articulate a clear vision for the company's future;

• Reverse the loss of management and retain and attract key talent; and

• Position the company for profitable growth.

The committee said it believes that "recent deterioration in performance at the Children's Place is just the beginning of a downward trend."

Current leadership is putting the company at risk, according to the committee's news release.

The committee, led by former Children's Place CEO and current board member Ezra Dabah, also sought shareholder support for its nominees in letters last week and in June.

Children's Place is a Secaucus, N.J., specialty retailer.
