Moody's ups Chiapas ratings

Moody's Investors Service said it raised the issuer ratings of the State of Chiapas to A2.mx (Mexico national scale) and Ba2 (global scale, local currency) from A3.mx and Ba3, respectively.

According to Moody's, the upgrade is prompted by the state's exercise of fiscal control over an extended period, its sound and improving debt position, and indications of eased political and community tensions.
