Charter operating income climbs to $90 million in September; sales up

Pittsburgh, Oct. 30 - Charter Communications, Inc. reported $90 million in operating income for September on $569 million in revenues, according to its monthly operating report filed Friday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The figures showed improvement over the $85 million operating income posted in August on $564 million in revenues.

The net loss for the September was $58 million, narrowing from a $73 million August net loss.

Charter had $1.075 billion in cash and cash equivalents at Sept. 30, up slightly from $1.06 billion at the end of August.

Charter Communications is a St. Louis-based provider of video services, high-speed internet services and telephone services to residential and commercial customers on a subscription basis. The company filed for bankruptcy on March 27, 2009. Its Chapter 11 case number is 09-11435.
