CFM exclusive plan-filing period extended to Dec. 8

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Oct. 7 - CFM U.S. Corp. secured an extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Specifically, the company's exclusive plan-filing period was extended to Dec. 8 from Oct. 7 and the solicitation period to Feb. 6 from Dec. 8.

According to the motion, the company has not been in "a realistic position to create and build acceptance for a plan to date" given the size and complexity of its bankruptcy case and the business and restructuring matters that have been and still must be resolved.

Based in Huntington, Ind., CFM designs, develops, manufactures and distributes hearth and heating products. The company filed for bankruptcy on April 9. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-10668.
