Centene files $300 million shelf

New York, Oct. 25 - Centene Corp. filed a $300 million shelf registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission Monday.

The shelf covers debt securities, common stock, preferred stock, warrants, securities purchase contracts and securities purchase units. Securities may be issued as convertibles.

The St. Louis-based managed care provider will use proceeds from the securities for general corporate purposes and working capital unless otherwise specified at the time of sale, according to an S-3 filing with the SEC.
