Mexico’s Cemex secures €106 million loan from International Finance

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., July 12 – Cemex SAB de CV secured a €106 million loan from International Finance Corp., a member of the World Bank Group, in support of Cemex’s sustainable investment programs in emerging markets.

About 60% of the funds will be allocated for projects related to the reduction of the company’s greenhouse gas emissions. The remainder of the funds will be allocated to cover improvements to Cemex’s overall air emission controls, according to a news release.

IFC is joining Cemex’s facilities agreement dated Sept. 29, 2014, as amended and restated, maturing in 2020.

Cemex is a cement producer based in Monterrey, Mexico.
