S&P ups Kansas City Southern

S&P said it raised Kansas City Southern’s issuer and unsecured debt ratings to BBB+ and removed it from CreditWatch with positive implications.

The upgrade follows Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd.’s completion of its merger with KCS. The combined company is now called Canadian Pacific Kansas City Ltd. (CPKC), the agency said. It considers KCS to be a core subsidiary of CPKC.

The outlook is stable.
