Calpine posts $20.89 million May income from operations, $35.13 million for April

Pittsburgh, Aug. 10 - Calpine Corp. reported a $20.89 million income from operations for May and $35.13 million for April, according to 8-K filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company posted $533.3 million in revenues in May and $484.21 million in April.

The net loss narrowed in May to $207.19 million from an April net loss of $274.22 million.

Cash and cash equivalents on May 31 were $919.88 million, compared with $1.222 billion on April 30.

Calpine, a San Jose, Calif., power company, filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 20, 2005 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-60200.
