S&P revises China Life view to stable

S&P said it revised its outlook on China Life Insurance Co. Ltd. to stable from negative.

The agency also affirmed the A+ long-term issuer credit rating.

At the same time, the agency affirmed the A- long-term issue rating on China Life's outstanding notes.

S&P also revised its outlook on China Life Insurance (Overseas) Co. Ltd. to stable from negative and affirmed the A long-term issuer credit rating.

The agency also affirmed the A- long-term issue rating on China Life Overseas' outstanding notes.

“We revised the outlook to reflect our expectation that China Life's capitalization will stabilize on the back of prospects for improving profitability,” the agency said in a news release.

“The company's slower but higher quality premium growth, which focuses on long-term regular business, will provide the insurer with better profit generation, supporting its financial profile.”
