Crosstex Energy files $500 million debt securities shelf registration

Knoxville, Tenn., May 7 - Crosstex Energy LP and Crosstex Energy Finance Corp. jointly filed a $500 million common units and debt securities shelf registration in an S-3 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The debt may be structured as convertibles.

The company will use the proceeds for general partnership purposes.

Crosstex is a Dallas-based midstream natural gas company.
