S&P: Cooper-Standard unchanged

Standard & Poor's said the B+ corporate credit rating on Cooper-Standard Automotive Inc. is not affected by news that the company's has retained a financial advisor to assist it in evaluating strategic alternatives to enhance shareholder value.

These could include a sale or merger of the company or an initial public offering of its common shares, S&P said.

For now, with no details about whether the outcome will be a sale of the company, there are no rating implications, the agency said.

Cooper-Standard has a weak business risk profile as a participant in the highly competitive and volatile auto industry, S&P said, and aggressive leverage.
