S&P: Comerica view negative

Standard & Poor's said it revised the outlook on Comerica Inc. to negative from stable and affirmed the A long-term counterparty credit rating.

The negative outlook is a result of a broader review of U.S. regional bank institutions, according to the agency.

The outlook reflects concerns regarding Comerica's exposure to commercial real estate and other commercial lending given the uncertain housing markets and deteriorating economic environment, S&P noted.
