CMS Energy files $1.5 billion shelf

New York, June 6 - CMS Energy Corp. registered $1.5 billion of securities in an S-3 shelf filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Covered by the shelf are stock, debt securities - including convertibles - trust preferreds, stock purchase contracts and stock purchase units.

Of the total, $16.0 million was previously registered but has not been sold.

The Jackson, Mich., energy company will use proceeds for general corporate purposes.
