BNP Paribas hires Street for London debt syndicate, promotes McCann in New York

By Devika Patel

Knoxville, Tenn., Sept. 12 - BNP Paribas announced it has hired Nicholas Street at its global debt syndicate group in London.

Street will focus on execution of high yield/crossover/corporate hybrid credit reporting to Fred Zorzi and Robert Whichello, co-heads of European debt syndicate.

Street last worked at Integra Capital Ltd. as a portfolio manager/trader with emphasis on European leveraged credit and ECM corporate high yield. Prior to that, he spent four years at RBS in London most recently as director in high yield flow trading and before that as a director in high yield capital markets - both syndicate and origination.

In New York, following the retirement of Peter Masco, Tim McCann becomes head of BNP's U.S. syndicate. McCann has been with the BNP Paribas syndicate desk since 2002.

Frank McConville joins the desk from Sanders Morris Harris group where he worked since January 2006. McConville established the debt syndicate desk at SMH. Prior to that, he worked at Advest on the debt syndicate desk for one year and before that at Prudential Securities for eight years, also on the debt syndicate desk.

David Barcus moves from the high yield capital markets team to become head of high yield syndicate. Both report to McCann.

"The importance of providing the best execution has increased markedly of late especially with recent market volatility, Nick, Tim Frank and David have an abundance of experience and expertise that will be invaluable in such conditions," global head of primary markets Martin Egan said in a press release.

BNP Paribas is a Paris-based financial services company.
