Fitch rates Bank of China notes A

Fitch Ratings said it gave an expected A rating to Bank of China Ltd. London Branch’s planned fixed-rated dollar-denominated senior unsecured notes to be issued under its medium-term note program.

These notes will be issued as sustainability re-linked bonds with the proceeds used to finance and/or refinance an eligible sustainability-linked loan portfolio as defined in BOC's sustainability re-linked bond management statement.

“The issuance's purpose is to increase capital flows to support corporates' efforts in improving the ecological environment, tackling climate change, resource conservation and efficiency, increasing social benefits and enhancing the corporate governance system,” Fitch said in a press release.

The outlook is stable.
