BDO Unibank defers PHP 5 billion bond issue due to quarantine

By Marisa Wong

Los Angeles, March 18 – Philippines’ BDO Unibank, Inc. announced it is deferring its PHP 5 billion fixed-rate bond issue due to the “enhanced community quarantine” imposed in metro Manila and the rest of Luzon with the Covid-19 outbreak.

The company said the deferral will allow potential investors to reassess their investment and liquidity needs given the disruption in business activities resulting from the quarantine.

The bank is based in Makati City, Philippines.
