Peru's BanBif gets $100 million three-year bullet syndicated facility

By Angela McDaniels

Tacoma, Wash., Jan. 17 - Banco Interamericano de Finanzas SA (BanBif) entered into a $100 million three-year bullet syndicated facility (//BBB-), according to a news release from Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior, SA (Bladex).

Bladex was the lead arranger, bookrunner and administrative agent.

Proceeds will be used to support the growth of BanBif's trade-related operations.

Bladex said that this transaction represents BanBif's first syndicated loan in the international markets and that the transaction was oversubscribed.

The syndication of the loan followed a two-stage strategy: A mandated lead arranger syndication launched in early October and was followed by a general syndication in early November. The deal closed during the first week of January.

BanBif is a bank based in San Isidro, Peru. It is controlled by Grupo Empresarial Fierro, a Spanish conglomerate.
