Banco Central do Brasil's Copom increases Selic rate to 12½%

San Diego, July 21 - The Monetary Policy Committee (Copom) of the Banco Central do Brasil announced that after assessing the prospective scenario and the balance of risks for inflation, it has unanimously decided to increase the Selic target to 12½%.

The committee said that the minutes for the July 19 and July 20 Copom meeting will be released July 28.
