Fitch: Compass outlook stable

Fitch Ratings said it revised Compass Bancshares, Inc.'s outlook to stable from positive and affirmed its A+ long-term issuer default rating and F1 short-term issuer default rating and TexasBanc Capital Trust I's preferred stock at A-.

The agency also affirmed Compass Bank's long-term deposits at AA-, short-term deposits at F1, long-term issuer default rating at A+, short-term issuer default rating at F1, senior debt at A+ and subordinated debt at A.

The rating actions follow the revision of parent company Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA's outlook to stable from positive. The agency said Compass' affirmation reflects the strategic importance and high degree of integration with its parent.
