Aeropostale to close 29 additional stores; sales to begin on Aug. 3

Pittsburgh, July 29 – Aeropostale, Inc. announced plans to hold store-closing sales at an additional 29 locations, according to a notice filed Friday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The sales are scheduled to begin on Aug. 3.

The closing stores are located in Michigan, Virginia, Mississippi, Florida, New York, Louisiana, California, Oregon, New Jersey, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Arizona, Tennessee, Illinois and Maryland.

As previously reported, the company originally planned to close 113 of roughly 770 U.S. store locations, as well as all 41 stores in Canada.

Aeropostale, a New York-based young adult clothing retailer, filed bankruptcy on May 4. The Chapter 11 case number is 16-11275.
