S&P rates Alior Bank BB

S&P said it assigned a BB long-term and B short-term issuer credit ratings to Alior Bank SA.

The outlook is stable.

With a 5% asset share in the Polish banking sector, Alior is still a relatively small bank, but demonstrates sound franchise in consumer finance and commercial lending to small- and mid-sized enterprises, S&P said.

The bank's business model and aggressive growth track record has helped the bank achieve stronger average margins than peers, the agency said.

But its revenues, capitalization and risk profile can be more volatile and vulnerable to changes in operating conditions than those of most peers, S&P said.
