Adelphia Recovery Trust asks court for plan termination date extension
By Kali Hays
New York, July 24 – The Adelphia Recovery Trust has filed a request with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York for an extension of the termination date under its plan of reorganization through December 2016, according to a Thursday news release form the company.
The current termination date is Dec. 31 of this year.
“Although the trust has resolved several causes of action and distributed $275 million to date to interest holders” a remaining cause of action is unlikely to be resolved by Dec. 31, 2014, the release stated.
Adelphia Recovery Trust is a Delaware statutory trust formed by Adelphia Communications Corp., a Greenwood Village, Colo.-based cable operator that emerged from bankruptcy on Feb. 13, 2007. Its Chapter 11 case number is 02-41729.
