ATX Communications gets temporary extension on exclusivity through July 29 hearing

Washington, July 13 - ATX Communications, Inc. obtained a temporary extension on its exclusive right to file a reorganization plan and to solicit votes until a July 29 hearing on the subject is held, according to a Monday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Southern New York.

The previous exclusive period to file a reorganization plan ended July 13 and Sept. 13 to solicit votes. ATX is seeking an extension to Sept. 11 to file a plan and until Nov. 12 to solicit votes for the plan.

The King of Prussia, Pa. facilities-based telecommunications provider filed for bankruptcy on Jan. 15, 2004. ATX's Chapter 11 case number is 04-10214.
