Fitch gives A IFSR to Associated Electric

Fitch Ratings said it assigned an insurer financial strength rating of A to Associated Electric & Gas Insurance Services, Ltd.

The outlook is stable.

Fitch said the rating reflects Associated Electric’s strong business profile as a leader in providing insurance and risk mitigation services for the North American utilities and energy sector.

Associated Electric derives competitive advantages from its long-term relationships with its members, its risk management expertise and extensive database of exposure and claims information as well as benefits drawn from the company's mutual company status.

The rating also reflects the company's strong operating performance and material growth in capital over the past several years, the agency explained.
