Archway Cookies trustee looks to pay $2.6 million of priority claims

By Kali Hays

New York, May 27 – Archway Cookies LLC Chapter 7 trustee Jeoffrey L. Burtch asked the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware to authorize payment of $2.6 million in priority claims, according to a May 27 motion.

Burtch said the estate holds more than $4 million in unencumbered cash and if the payment is approved, there will be no remaining unpaid priority claims.

As the proposed payment will “advance the administration of these cases,” Burtch asked that payment be approved as soon as possible.

A hearing is set for June 17.

Archway, a Battle Creek, Mich.-based cookie company, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 6, 2008. The Chapter 7 case number is 08-12323.
