AMR operating loss drops to $129 million in February; revenues fall

Pittsburgh, March 28 - AMR Corp. reported a $129 million operating loss for February on $1,823,000,000 in total operating revenues, according to its monthly operating report filed Thursday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

In comparison, AMR posted $91 million of operating income for January on $2,087,000,000 in total operating revenues.

The net loss for February was $192 million, compared to $44 million of net income for January.

The company had $588 million in cash at Feb. 28, down from $607 million at the end of January.

AMR, the Fort Worth-based parent of American Airlines, filed for bankruptcy on Nov. 29, 2011 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Its Chapter 11 case number is 11-15463.
