AMR reports $55 million of operating income for May; revenues climb

Pittsburgh, June 26 - AMR Corp. reported $55 million of operating income for May on $2.17 billion of total operating revenues, according to its monthly operating report filed Tuesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

For April, AMR posted a $15 million operating loss on $2.04 billion in total operating revenues.

The net loss for May was $132 million, narrowing from a $142 million April net loss.

The company had $429 million in cash at May 31, up from $418 million at the end of April.

AMR, the Fort Worth-based parent of American Airlines, filed for bankruptcy on Nov. 29, 2011 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. The Chapter 11 case number is 11-15463.
