American Greetings files automatic shelf registration covering debt

Knoxville, Tenn., Nov. 15 - American Greetings Corp. filed a debt securities automatic shelf registration in an S-3 ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The debt may be structured as convertibles.

Proceeds will be used to repay debt and for share repurchases, dividends, acquisitions, capital expenditures and operating expenses and to invest in subsidiaries.

American Greetings is a Cleveland-based designer, manufacturer and seller of greeting cards and other social expression products.
