S&P rates Abbott notes A-

S&P said it assigned an A- issue-level rating to Abbott Laboratories’ proposed senior unsecured notes.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, including to repay $1.3 billion of debt maturing in September 2020.

“Our A- long-term issuer credit rating and stable outlook on Abbott Laboratories are unaffected by the debt issuance,” S&P said in a press release.
