Allegheny files automatic shelf for debt securities, preferred stock

Tacoma, Wash., May 26 - Allegheny Technologies Inc. filed an automatic shelf registration for an undisclosed amount of securities in an S-3ASR with the Securities and Exchange Commission Tuesday.

Covered by the shelf are debt securities, preferred stock, common stock, warrants, purchase contracts, purchase units and depositary shares.

The debt securities and preferreds may be structured as convertibles.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.

Allegheny Technologies is a specialty metals producer based in Pittsburgh.
