AirTran files $225 million shelf

New York, Aug. 16 - AirTran Holdings, Inc. registered to sell up to $225 million of securities in an S-3 shelf filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Covered by the shelf are common stock, preferred stock, debt securities and warrants. The debt and preferreds can be structured as convertibles.

AirTran, an Orlando, Fla.-based low-fare airline, will use proceeds for general corporate purposes unless specified otherwise at the time of sale.
