Moody's rates Airgas notes Baa2

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned a Baa2 rating to the senior unsecured notes due 2022 of Airgas, Inc.

Proceeds from the offering will be used to repay debt under the commercial paper program, to repurchase shares and for general corporate purposes.

The outlook is stable.

"The company's continues to perform well, despite a weakening economic outlook," Moody's senior vice president John Rogers said in a news release. "Credit metrics are expected to modestly weaken over the next several quarters due to its previously announced share repurchase program," Rogers added in the release.
